We are Always Innovating at Summit Automation!

Welcome to our latest newsletter! We’ve been hard at work and have some exciting updates to share. Not only have we enhanced existing accessories, but we’ve also added new ones! We are in the process of updating our line card, and when we release that soon, you’ll be able to check out our latest line of accessories.

We’d like to thank our Master Manufacturing Representatives (MMRs) for coming out to our event this spring. Between our crew and MMRs, we had a group of 50. We can’t wait for the next time we all get together! Keep an eye out for news about future Summit Automation events.

We just introduced our Tilt-Up / Pass-Thru option, which uses linear drive actuators and comes with Summit’s standard controls (more about this option below). Interest has been off the charts, with our release date fast approaching. On July 1st, we start shipping, so get your orders in now!

Speaking of new window automation choices, we have a Guillotine window project in the works. With this solution, you will be able to raise and lower a panel into a soffit area, in front of another panel, or drop it down into a countertop.

It’s been another record-breaking quarter at Summit Automation, and as always, we would like to thank you all! Have a fantastic summer!

Innovations from Summit Automation: Tilt-Up / Pass-Thru / Awning Option

Two motors are required for each tilt-up configuration. Our electric actuators can handle a sash weight of up to 400 lbs. A variety of sizes are available and customizable, including 5’ tall x 10’ wide (weighs 300 lbs.) and 6’ tall x 8’ wide (weighs 400 lbs.).

All cabling will be done and hidden, and when the actuators are fully extended, they are out of the way (allowing easy clearance to walk under the open window). Covers are available for the actuators to conceal them from the inside and the outside view is covered by the sash.

When closed, the panel is pulled up against the weather stripping and seals without the need to throw any of the manual locks. Also, once the panel is in the fully closed position, it cannot be pulled out manually.

Motor Specifications:

  • Motor Dimension – 36mm & 50mm diameter, the length is dependent upon overall height of the panel each (2 motors required per Tilt-Up)
  • Usage – Pass-thru window normally positioned above a countertop within the kitchen.
  • Volts – 110v 15 amp dedicated circuit required for the control box, the motors are 24v and require low voltage cabling (included in the kit) between the control box, lift module, and motors.
  • Max Panels – One
  • Component Connection – Hardware connections to the panel and jambs included within the kit
  • Max Distance From Control Box – 20 cable feet between the lift module and the motors. Up to 100’ of cables between the control box and the lift module.
  • Panel Sash Size & Weight – Currently offering actuators for a max size of 5’ tall x 10’ wide – 300 lbs.; or, 6’ tall x 8’ wide – 400 lbs.; other sizes available

Major Motor Components:

  • Summit Automation Lift Module
  • Control Box
  • 9-in-1 Touchscreen Wall Switch

June is National Homeownership Month

Every year in June, America celebrates National Homeownership Month. It started as just a week in 1995, introduced by the Clinton administration to bolster homeownership across the United States. In 2002, President George W. Bush chose to have the entire month of June dedicated to homeownership.

Owning a home has long been thought of as part of “The American Dream”. With homeownership comes the opportunity to customize homes and yards. Adding automation to windows and doors is a great way to add value, convenience, and sophistication.
